PERSONAL SLEDS - PAGE 43.
Hi my name is Rob Brown.
I wish I could find some pictures of when my father bought the 2 Mach 440's.
As a kid I do remember my father's friend Kenny Cookmen crashed his first Mach and he couldn't get parts anymore.
Now finding parts has been a dead end so far.
With your help my childhood memories could be something I can share with my 3 son's.
Thanks so much ORPS for taking an interest in my quest.
As i find more pictures of my Auto Ski days I will send them and hope you enjoy the pictures.
Thanks - Rob Brown - Ludlow Auto Ski.

I'm new to vintage sled restoration and I am getting into it
because my father was an Auto Ski dealer in the early 70's.
I was 7 years old when my father gave me my first sled which was a 1971 - 340 single cylinder.
My father sold 37 Auto Ski's when he had his dealership which was
LUDLOW AUTO SKI SALES AND SERVICE and I've been tracing back to find the people he sold
those sleds to and I have found a few 73 Spitfire SS 440's.
I am also working on a few other ones right now as well. I do have some NOS parts that we have left over I can use.
What I'm restoring at this point are 2 1973 mach 440's that my father bought for himself that he grass dragged.
When we first went to get them he had to drive up to the factory to buy them. They have been sitting
in his back yard since 1979 and a few years ago I realized what I had and started my search for parts.
So far I'm the only one with these sleds that I know of. I do know a few guys with 73 mach 650's but no 440's.
The 73 Mach 440 Auto Ski seems to be as rare, I know that Auto Ski made at least 22 mach 440's
in 73 because one of my sleds was the 22nd made the other was the 9th.
If you know anyone that has any of these sleds or maybe parts, please have them contact me at bpracingengines@verizon.net
P.S. just to let you know, back in 1992 I had an atv accident which paralysed
my legs so I use a wheel chair now but I still ride.
Thanks, Rob.
